Winter is a time for warmth and comfort. The animal kingdom hibernate in the colder climates around the world. A time to nourish Kapha and Vata doshas.
Daily practices
This season is the season to rest and revise. It is supportive to gathering our energy in preparation for the rebirth of spring. Time to cosy up by a warm fire, read read book you haven’t quite got to yet and make warming casseroles, soups and dhals.
Vigorous exercise and infar-red saunas are favoured during winter months. As Kapha dosha is predominant, any exercise that invigorates and stimulates the system.
Drink warm teas- fresh ginger, fennel and cinnamon. Sip on hot water to eliminate Ama (toxins) from the system.
Practice Abhyunga with warmed black sesame oil to nourish Vata dosha and calm the nervous system.
